Disconnected

The past 5 days have been the most HORRIBLE days in my life. Not horrible in a life or death situation (though it really did feel like that to me) but horrible as in I WAS COMPUTERLESS! Yup, having no computer for 5 days felt like I was going to die... haha, I'm not exaggerating, you have NO idea.

So what was wrong with it? Well, couple of weeks ago the sound started to act weird. Whenever I connected earphones and then took it out, the sound would not work and then a red light would be on. Then my friend helped me temporarily fix it. Also, the keyboard area was slowly starting to chip off (where the wrists rest) so I figured since I have the Apple-care plan, might as well use it. The thing is, I live in a small town with NO STARBUCKS so go figure. Yup we have no Apple stores, but we do have a reseller. But I found out that resellers don't normally fix computers, so I started doing some research and found out that the one here DOES FIX STUFF, so I jumped for joy and headed over downtown to drop off my computer. The guy was really nice and spoke perfect English. See we started off with Spanish, but I started to explain something and I couldn't remember the word in Spanish so I asked him if he understood English and he said "Of course" so from then on we spoke in English. Yea, so since last Friday I've been in the misery of having no computer and being disconnected from the world. The dude said it takes up to 5 working days but it could be done sooner, and that he'd call me if it was done fixing early. So I've been waiting for the call impatiently and I finally got it today! There was no problems with the logic board and if it happens again, the dude said to bring it back in AND the inside of my computer looks brand new :)

So in these times of misery I:
-started watching more TV and I totally don't mind watching TV in Spanish, but it is a pet-peeve of mine when the mouths and words don't match. Funny thing is that I should be used to it since in Bolivia that's all I saw, but I guess I never really noticed it. I also attempted the Basque channel, but no luck in that.
-read more scripture in 5 days than I have in a month.
-started reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, which is a great book so far, and I just found out that they're making a movie out of it. Read it if you get a chance :)
-started eating more health consciously, I'm trying to get fit and lose hecka weight!
-turned 22 -_-
-got sick/lost my voice :( It's day 3 right now, I haven't eaten in 2 days, and I finally got my appetite back today so I had bread because I've been craving it. I hope by tomorrow I'll be all good.

But yea, it's good to be connected again. I no longer feel miserable without a computer... but now I have to get over this cold!

The picture is from Saturday (May 16th), my supervisors treated me out to "Foster's Hollywood" for my bday. This restaurant is the only place with free refills and it's "American." The menu reminds me of ESPN Zone and it's great drinking as many drinks as I want :)
