Oh mai foot!

Ok, so news on my foot!

I went back to the podiatrist where everyone is really nice, and speak to me in English. Why? Because when they wanted me to show some ID, I didn't have my passport, so I had to show them my CA driver's license. Everyone knows me by name now (after the 1st visit, which is nice), probably because I am the only young person and only asian person that goes there. Seriously, all their patients are grams and gramps... but oh well.

The pain has subsided when I walk so I thought it was good news. WRONG! I told the podologist that I was doing much better and it didn't hurt as much, thinking that I wouldn't have to go to the podologist no more, he touches the muscle/tendon area and it hurt like no other...

So what did the podologist say? Well, he said that the gastrocnemius muscle is a short muscle (either only mine is short, or it's short in general... man I should know, I was the bio major -_-) so whenever I walk it pulls the tendon applying more tension and that's what's causing the pain. So after the diagnosis of my muscle, he made me walk up and down a ramp (the ramps used for physical therapy to re-learn how to walk) to see how I walk. I was going to bust out cat walk status but then he said "Walk like you walk regularly," so no cat walk for me... There was also a treadmill in there so I thought he was going to make me run so I was thinking in my head "ooooh noooooooo." Anywhoo, he added to the bad news that I am stepping wrong. He said that whenever I step it goes inward... (I can't really describe it, I'd have to show u the motion he used and you'd understand, unless you know exactly what I'm saying haha).

I am there standing thinking, great, what next? -_-

So off to the "casting" room where they made a cast to get an impression of my feet... why? I'M GETTING SOLES for my shoes... He said that this is going to control the arch, the way I walk, and the tension in the tendon/muscle.

Man, and I thought I was going to start waking up early tomorrow and run to the beach. I guess not. But the podologist did mention that he will try to fix my problem ASAP so I can start training for the Camino since he did it too. :)

So in 2 weeks, I'll be wearing soles to walk... GRANDMA STATUS!

in keeping with the Cali boys "Go Granny Go Granny Go Granny Go". I know three people who used the soles and it made a big difference so hang in there
