Takes time

It's almost the middle of my 3rd week here in VA. I know I should try writing frequently, but for some reason I can't get myself to do so.

I just want to say that the past 2 weeks, we had such great speakers here at the ILC. Learning about spiritual warfare and the doctrines just expanded my knowledge and I also think that I'm growing more and more everyday as a Christian. I think that there's always room for more growth. God is just good. Enough said. I'm just thankful that God has been so great these past 3 weeks.

The weather has been pretty much cloudy since Sunday with rains here and there. I think I'm pretty much adjusted to this place. But home is still on my mind. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time with being homesick and missing my family/friends. It's only Virginia, I'm still in the US... On the other hand, when I go to Spain -_-

I think the session we had last week about saying goodbyes and preparing to do so just stuck with me till now! It's just so hard. I feel like this whole summer has been a summer of goodbyes... Goodbyes to friends, goodbyes to school, goodbyes to residents, and just everything... but like I learned, we've got to make some sacrifices for the Lord. But now that I think about it, I think I'm being too shady and selfish. I'm supposed to be a servant for the Lord, not caring about what people say or what I have or not... Sometimes I wonder why God picked me to go on this journey. But then again, we can never question our Father and He always knows why. Don't get me wrong, I'm supper excited to go on the field and do His work but it's funny how He picked me... Plain ol', very loud and short Esther...

Anywhoo, I've got to get my Euskara (language in the Basque region where I'm going in Spain). It's so hard finding stuff since it's like a rare language! So far I've learned: KAIXO (HI) lol It's really hard learning it, because even if I find stuff online, I can read it, but I have no idea if I'm pronouncing it correctly. Haha, so hopefully I stumble across an Euskara listening/learning tool kit soon!

Some of the older people here (ISC and Career) have commented on how us Journeymen are going to go on the field on our own. Some of those who have been and going back say that they couldn't have done it with their spouses. Honestly, I think that if we have the strength and courage to do God's will, that's all we need. We only need God. So I don't know why the topic of "single/relationships" keep on coming up not only with some people here, but also with my family and friends. I can be single. I can do it alone, I'm not even alone I'm with God. Boys are just complicated and misleading... I don't even know where to begin, VANESSA AND KYLE, if you're reading this you totally know why I'm writing this right? UGH!!!! (the "thing" the "green-go") lol

This whole post might not make sense at all because there have been so many things going on my mind lately I just can't express everything that's going on in my mind... just a big ol jambalaya of thoughts...

Please pray for me. To focus and be strong while at the ILC. Please pray that I use my time wisely to do all I have to get done and to have quiet time with God.

Also you are in my prayers: family, friends (v and k), church, my team leaders in Spain and the Basque people.

You may be scared of what's about to happen, but it will all be worth it. it always is (For you anyway.) I keep telling you to focus on why you're there and not "thing". You're doing more than I could ever imagine right now so you have no time for distractions, unlike me who is going nowhere and has nothing but time to think with my useless brain. You're not there to meet Christian "things." Just have fun, learn lots, and focus on why you are there. On another note, I'm glad you're adjusting, but don't get too comfortable because you'll be back here to watch sad girly holiday movies with me and go to disneyland and eat carne asada fries soon!

Esther, you are a hero to me. I could never be half the person you are. I am so honored to be your friend and have your blessings. You are doing such a selfless thing. No bad could ever come of it. I'm so proud of you. And I second Vanessa's comment: do not get too comfortable over there.
