So how has it been so far? Amazing, confusing, frustrating, and any other feeling you know of. It's amazing being back with family/friends, being back to where I used to live and getting back to how things were before. Confusing in what to do next. So many things I want to do, I just have to pick the right path and I'm hoping the big homie G will guide me and help me through this process. Frustrating in that it's so hard to find a job. To be honest, it will be my first "real world" job. I've never had to job hunt or do anything so it's really frustrating. I've been on 5 interviews. and 3/5 they told me I was "over-qualified" whatever that means. I just want a job right now. Any job. lol So if anyone's hiring out there, let me know. I have heard that the job market was pretty bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad.
For the past 1.5 months I have been a jobless bum. lol But I have been trying to be productive while being a bum. I have been going to the gym almost everyday since my return, I have picked up the acoustic guitar and my brother is slowly helping me learn :) Try to make the best out of my bum situation you know what I'm sayin? lol
Life back in the states is easier than I thought it would be. My friend's said that it's as if I never left. However, it is strange because everyone has moved on with their lives, while I try to start mine 2 years after everyone else.
Reverse culture shock... well lets see, it's so weird getting costumer service and attention from people. Oh and also I think it's soooooo weird that people talk to me randomly wherever I am. Everyone is so nice, I've missed that. Oh, and can I say multicultural diversity? I'm having more culture shock from my own race than anything else!!! hahaha Food portions are huge. Eating lunch and dinner EXTREMELY early compared to Spain, and the fact that everything is open, even on Sundays, 24 hour places, big cars, big parking spaces and all that jazz. But it's all good.
The biggest thing, still, after 1.5 months is trying to flush the toilet! I know you might think it's weird, but after going potty, I always look to push the button or pull the lever from up top, and I freak out that I can't flush it, then to realize that it's off to the side and you just push down lol
Yea I know, I'm weird like that, but it's been a big part of the readjusting I guess.
It's mid-November but we still get 80s/90s and even 100 degree weather here in sunny California, and I love it. I've missed the 70 degree winters and the fact that it doesn't rain every single day like it used to in San Sebastian.
Well, more updates to come. I miss everyone on the other side very very very much!!!
