Honestly, things have been pretty much the same since I landed here. I still do English sessions, I still don't like the weather here, I still miss everyone back at home. A few additions might be that I started Basque class (and I go to it, if I can wake up for it lol), I also started French class and I can now say that I have a few friends here. It's still a pretty lonely world here for me but I've learned to cope with it, however slowly but surely, God has blessed me with people to like me for all the gloriousness I have to offer as Esther :D
I finally have a store where they know what type of bread I would like to buy and also a coffee shop where they know how many sugar packets I put in my coffee. I even had a man in one of my English classes tell me that he wanted to have a relationship with Christ and that he was jealous of me. I had to adjust from being surrounded by friends to having none. I am sometimes wondering why all this sowing doesn't lead to reaping and keeping. I had people discriminate against me because of my race. I have had (and still have) many sleepless nights. I had numerous battles with the weather (specially the wind). I had times where I just wanted to throw in the towel and go home. And this is only the cliff notes version.
Nevertheless--Prayer has been a very important part in my journey here. Without prayer, it would be a whole 'nother story!
In about 7 months I will be embarking in a journey back home. And in about 3 months I will be embarking to a new city. Yup, you've read right. I will be heading over to the city of Madrid in June and finishing my term there. I am super excited about this and I can't wait! I am supposed to be moving out of my apartment at the end of May because my supervisors will be going on stateside in June. In short, things have been worked out for me to go and finish in Madrid and live with my amigas Jnet and Mth (haha don't know if it's good or bad news for them-but for me it's good :D).
Winter seems to be lingering around. We did have a full week of semi-spring weather. I put my heavy coats away but nope, I was punked once again and it's back to the cold. Nowadays, I get punked everyday though. The sun is brightly shining, but once outside, the ice cold breeze just creeps up on you... So my toes will have to wait longer to breathe. I am so ready for flip-flops! I truly envy those at home. Oh sunny socal...
Well, I hope I didn't bore you with another post...
