The luck of the Rubbish Bahn

So the 2nd part of my summer journey begins with Munich, Germany. We had a big conference with our company about 2 hours from Munich, so a group of friends and I decided to go a little early and enjoy what Munich had to offer.

We went around Munich, went to the Dachau concentration camp, Schloss Neuschwanstein (Cinderella castle in Fussen), and after a fun 3 days we ended up at the Allgau Stern Hotel for our conference.

If I were to write about the whole time there, it would take me a really long time and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to read that much. So I'm going to write about the most significant things that happened on this trip.

You see, Germany is really good with the whole keeping it clean and green. We saw trashcans everywhere. But of course, they use the British English edition of "trashcan" which is RUBBISH-BIN. Throughout many train rides, metro rides, and strolling along the streets of Munich, we saw numerous RUBBISH-BINS, and we always said that it was a funny word, and it sounded Russian. But my friend "princess-j" said that it could sound German if you say it in a German way... and after many repetitions and butchering accents, we decided that it did sound German. So being as silly as I am, I coined our group of 4 to be citizens of the RUBBISH-BAHN community originating in the metro stop of Moosack (sp?) where our story truly begins...

We were staying at a hotel near the airport, HOLIDAY-INN EXPRESS MUNICH AIRPORT to be more exact. And if you know where the airport it, you know that it takes at least about 40 mins to get to the center of Munich. One night, after an eventful touristy day, we decided to go back to our hotel... So we were all enjoying our metro ride, us being the loudest, I mean me being the loudest (Germany is way
too quiet for me), and all of a sudden we hear the announcement lady saying that the train was going to split and that we had to be on the right cart if we wanted to continue to the airport. We were having so much fun with each other, that we weren't sure what to do, cuz we only heard bits and pieces of that announcement. So we all freaked out, and at the next metro stop (Moosack) we jumped off, and tried to hop into the front part of the metro. We ran and ran until "princess-j" realized that we were actually in the right cart!!! So we stopped turned around and ran again, we pressed the button for the door to open, but nothing happened. The metro just kept on going and we couldn't do anything about it...We were stranded in the middle of nowhere and the next train came in like another hour... So we were sitting there mad, confused to what had happened, and just mad...

I'm pretty sure we made tons of Germans laugh that day from our stupidity (and there were people in the metro laughing at us), but oh well, we learned that if you take the S8 to the airport, you have to be in the right cart.

Ok, and our story doesn't end there but I shall continue later... Tune in for part 2 of "The luck of the Rubbish Bahn" this time, Fussen edition!

Here we area at Moosack... the beginning of the Rubbish bahn community and the luck of the Rubbish Bahn!!! :D
