For easter break (aka Semana Santa) me and 2 other jgirls went to Paris~! It was soooooo nice and I loved it. I seriously want to live there. I love the food, the people, the clothes, the cool art, the touristy places, the random musicians, did I mention, THE FOOD! lol Especially the boulangeries! Who bar hops if you can boulangerie hop! Seriously, I think I've eaten more baked goods in Paris in a week than I have my 3 months here in Spain.
So the journey began Sunday evening (April 5th). Since my airport here in San Sebastian is very small and dinky, the flights to Paris were like 700 euros. And my route would've looked like this: San Sebastian-Madrid-London-Paris -_- Seriously, I only live 30 minutes away from France and they're making me go around. BUT PTL that there is a train! :D I had to cross the border and go to Hendaye, France and catch the train there. I got the night train and it was nice. Got first class for only 59 Euros! I arrived in Paris an hour before the other girls (who are lucky to live in a big city and get direct flights)
OMG, the hostel... online there were some scary reviews and I'm not gonna lie, it was straight up in the GHETTO! But, the hostel itself wasn't as bad. Got to meet some cool people and it was aite. But the area omg -_- not cool.
We did a free tour (which was awesome and the tour guide was great! Although I did want the Canadian tour guide but the British guy was cool too), went to the Louvre, Musee
D'Orsay, Versailles, Sacre Cour, Notredame, Eiffel Tour, L'Arche de Triumphe, Tuilleries, Louxembourg gardens, Ave. Champs Elysees, Moulin Rouge, and cute/cool places around Paris. I felt like I was back at home for some reason. I tried to overdose on STARBUCKS since I don't have any here and it was good, but EXPENSIVE! More expensive than Madrid!
Honestly, I think it was such a great trip and I'm glad I went! I was kind of scared of traveling to Paris on my own in the train, but it was great! and the French are not rude as we think they are!
The funny thing was that people thought I spoke French. Haha. I guess my 9th grade French skills kills haha. But what can I say, I'm just naturally good at languages! haha jkjk. But I was happy to hear that French people thought that I was good at French :)
