Big girls don´t cry...

Hola everyone!!!!!! I arrived in Spain safely, only that one of my 4 bags didn´t make it and I´m totally freaking out about it! Hopefully it´ll come in soon!
So the story of my journey begins a little like this,

Sunday morning I went to the early service at church at 8AM, came back home, had some breakfast with the fam bam and headed off to the airport. My mom told my brother not to come so we said our goodbyes at home. Honestly, I didn´t want a big entourage in the airport so I told people not to come... or didn´t even mention where and what time. But anyways... It hadn´t hit me that I was leaving so I was just like ¨I´ll see you soon baboon¨ type of deal but you could tell that he was kind of sad. He handed over a $20 and said that was my airport money to buy food... oh that lil kid...

Then off we went to the airport! As soon as we parked and were taking my bags out to go to the terminal, I see two my of bffs4lyf pull over!!! I was so happy. We all went, I was early for checkin so I had to wait in line for 30 minutes before it opened, but I was pretty much in the front so didn´t really matter. I get my stuff in, I had 4 ginormous bags... I had 3 free check-ins and 1 extra but then again, 3 of my bags were overweight, so I ended up paying for all of them. Right towards the end of my transaction, British airlines put up a sign saying that there was a special offer to upgrade to business or first class... business class had wider seats with leg rests and first, of course had the beds! So my dad being the daddy´s girls that I am he upgraded me to the business class cuz first class was too expensive! We ate lunch at the airport, Mexican food for the very last time, and just talked till it was time to go. At this point, I thought it would hit me that I was leaving, but seriously it felt like I was going back to FPO and coming back in 2 months!

When it was time to board, I hugged my parents and my bffs goodbye we were all doing great, but my mom started crying. Great, and then my friend V started tearing up (don´t lie V, I saw you). I tried hard not to cry because I wanted to show them that 2 years will fly by, and that I´ll be okay and for them not to worry! Man, it was hard... you could see that my dad was getting sad too, but I had to show them that I´ll be strong! So until I was inside the security check, I was yelling ¨don´t worry I´ll be ok, I´ll see you in  years!!!¨ As soon as I went through the security check, they pulled me aside and patted me down and they went through my stuff... great, what a great way to start my trip! But the security lady was super nice and saw my ¨Twilight¨book and we had this whole conversation about how good the movie was and she said she was going to buy the books! haha

But I gotta be true, I ended up crying in the plane, during the ¨what to do during emergencies¨ and I bet the flight attendant thought I was weird for crying from watching them and the video clip! haha Emergencies are soooo emotional ahahah

So I got to board early and had a nice wide seat and leg rest... but it´s not as fancy shmancy as you might think.... 9 hours later I arrived in London! OMG, longest ride ever! The BA flight attendants were really nice, and loved the accent!!! haha But the Heathrow airport sucks! I got lost cuz the signs are confusing, there were no people to help you and ugh the connecting flight procedure is just BLLLAH! But yea, I had a 2 hour layover that got extended to 3 because of delays because of the bad weather...

3 hours later, I boarded onto another plane to got to Madrid... It only took 1 hour and 55 mintues! But I was knocked out all the way... I had another layover there.... about 3 hours....

So finally I got into the plane that would bring me to my destination... it took less than an hour! I got my bags... one didn´t make it, there was NO immigration of customs deal I had to go through so that was great. On top of all my team leaders are just so amazing! Seriously, totally WE! Love them... and their kids are just great! They are the ages of E, I, M and H, and J so it reminds me of them so much and I miss ya´ll!

To all my WE aunts and uncles and fellow journeyers, I miss ya´ll and hope all of you have a safe trip!

I don´t have internet in m place yet so it´ll take longer to get back and stuff, but I´m working on getting it ASAP!

But yea, that´s how I got here! Ya´ll are in my prayers!!

Pray that:
-my family has peace
-my bag gets here asap
-I start building relationships asap
-I can learn Euskera fast

I am soooo excited for you! I do hope that your bag shows up soon though, I would be wanting my stuff if I were you. Not so excited about your critique of Heathrow airport :(

Yay for the upgrade! And for getting there!

I hope your bag makes it soon. Having just experienced the panic of lost luggage I can sympathize. Ugh!

Hello from Tio & Tia. We are glad to hear you arrived safely, but buisness class? You did not get the full experience if you were not squeezed in coach with everyone else. JK! Can't wait to see you!!!
