So I've started thinking, along with Jnet, of how things are going to be weird and having to go through reverse culture shock. Interestingly it all started while eating a doner kabob, hence reason #1 is #1.
Here's a list of things that I'll have get used:
-What do you mean, there's NO Doner Kabob's in every corner?
-Why aren't people walking?
-What are free refills?
-No metro/bus? What?
-What do you mean there's no siesta time?
-Where's your shopping cart when you go to the grocery store?
-Why aren't there any street performers/statues on the streets?
-Why can't I buy milk off the shelves? (not that I want to)
-Are eggs really white in the states?
-Why can't I eat outside in the terraza (terrace)?
-Why are dogs barking at me? (dogs in Europe are so nice)
-Why is beer/wine more expensive than water? (water is quite pricey in Europe)
-What is a dryer? Where's the string to hang your clothes outside?
-Why is your washer not in the kitchen?
-Why are portions of food so big?
-I can really take leftover food home?
-Where is Ryanair/Vueling/Easyjet when you need them? (very low cost airlines)
-What do you mean I can't just hop on a train and arrive in another country?
-Why is my money not colorful?
-Where is the $1/$2 coin?
-What do you mean you accept cards instead of only cash?
-What do you mean you have sales almost every month and not only twice a year?
-How come you don't give me a tapa (hor d'oeurve) when I buy a drink?
-You have 24 hour stuff?
-I can really fit in a small here?
-There's air conditioning in your house?
-What's that noise when I'm in the bathroom? (air-vent thing)
-Why are there so many SUVs/trucks?
-Why aren't cars stopping when I cross the street?
-Why is Ibuprofen 200mg and not 500mg?
-Why aren't the Simpson's (or any TV show) speaking in Spanish?
-What do you mean there's customer service?
In less than 2 months I'll let you know if there are more additions to this :D

Oh my gosh, my big culture shock when I went home for the wedding was that everything smelled good. Stores smell like perfume and people smell like Tide. Everything is so sterile.
1. Ryanair sucks. It's not really low cost when you add in 834 euros in taxes, plus you don't get luggage. I can't wait to fly Southwest!
2. You should ALWAYS fit in a small. Anywhere.
3. The 500mg ibuprofen is illegal in France. I love it, though.
OH! And Ryanair charges 20 euros for a lap baby (LAP baby, not taking up any extra room) and won't let you bring a diaper bag for them. Jerks.
(but, we smuggled an extra bag on. take that, scumbags!)
